It’s going to be an amazing season!
North Island XC Champs Taupo 2017
North Island Cross Country Champs
This has taken a while to get here as the results from Taupo Harriers took an age in being posted. We had to deal with inclement weather most of the day as showers passed through with the gazebo well utilised – a big thanks to the Apperleys for dragging it all the way to Taupo. To be honest though, we could mirror some of the other competing clubs and have our own tent made complete with Club signage etc.
2017 Mission XC
Mission Cross Country
Well by my bad maths, there were 134 finishers at Saturday’s Mission XC – that’s a promising start to the season given that I reckon that close to 100 of those runners were from Napier HC….WHOOP WHOOP!!!!
Great weather. Great course. Great atmosphere. Great fields (35 in the U12 field alone). That all equals a great day. Thanks heaps to Reading Cinemas & Noel Leemings for the brilliant prizes. And an even bigger thank you to all the helpers from the day – it is very much appreciated.
2017 Queens Birthday Race
Queens Birthday Road Races
5 June 2017
Well wasn’t that fun?? It was a beautiful morning for running with a good turnout. Numbers were healthy, even allowing for the absence of the Secondary School runners saving themselves for the East Coast Champs. Before commenting on the races, a big thank you goes out to Wayne Smith and the large team of officials, marshals and results crew that made the event possible. Without those helpers, the event would not happen.
