Wow............you guys are awesome!!!
Over 70 people turned up for Saturdays' gallop around Pandora Pond. That is a terrific effort. With 19 teams to select I believe I saw a few more grey hairs emerge on the head of Lance Pearson. I have to admit though that Lance does a pretty impressive job in sorting out the teams with such a large group to work with......I don't even try to understand what is happening but is seems to happen.
The end result was that there was a 13 min gap between first and last teams, which is not that bad an effort. Up front in it was Team 10 comprising the Marshall siblings Stella & Matthew, Braeden Kommeren & Jarred Coutts who came from 5th after the first leg to 3rd after leg two to win overall by 17 sec. Jarred had given the lead team a 1 min 13 sec start but a 16 min 58 sec effort for the final 4.2km leg saw him pick up both Graeme Jones and Shannon Geary to emerge triumphant. Graeme resisted the urge to walk by bringing Team 18 of himself, Annie Kane and Aaron Thompson home in 2nd ahead of Team 15 of Christopher Wong & Giles Pearson (who completed 8.4km).
A glance through the results picked out the fastest legs completed by Kaleb Wright – 14 min 57 sec, Robert Strong 15 min 26 sec & Oliver Marshall 15 min 36 sec. Laura Langley was the fastest of the girls in 17 min 21 sec.
A big thanks to Lance, the time-keepers & Annie for organising the carbohydrate-loading at the end
of the event. A great day.
