Looks like there was a lovely turn out at the Marrett Madness last Saturday. There are results, and they will be up on the website shortly! Well done to the team of Pyper Jennings, Chris Marshall and Damien Christofis on taking out the win!
This Saturday is will be a fun relay out at Ken Ross Reserve, Whirinaki. The first turn on your left past Pan Pac (at the Mountain Bike Park).
The reserve is named and has a parking area. There will be a cubs run and a 2km option for the under 12’s. As for further details of the relay I will leave you to be surprised on the day!
There will be a cooked sausage and bread after the run, provided by Napier Harriers. Feel free to bring your own liquid refreshments!
The following Saturday the 22nd of April is the Noel Leeming - Reading Cinemas Mission Cross Country. Our first sealed handicap of the season. (You will be given a handicap but you will not know what it is till after the race! All runners start together, just go as fast as you can!)
Registrations from 1.30. Meet at the Mission. You will see the Harrier flags etc, but it is up the drive, to the right before you head up the hill to the restaurant. There will be a toilet there. You may want to wear spikes if you have them as there is a hill for you! There will be a cubs race.
The timetable for the race is as follows:
MISSION OPEN CROSS COUNTRY – 22 APRIL 2017
2.00 pm Girls/Boys: 14 & under 4km (2 laps)
Men/Women: 16 & under
19 & under and Sen/Masters (Short course)
2.30pm Boys and Girls 12 & under 2km (1 lap)
Cubs (7-9yrs) 1k approx
19 & under and Sen/Masters 6km (3 laps)

Make sure you have a singlet for racing – available from Annie, (on Saturdays or by arrangement!)
Black Harriers cap available for $15.There are a few kids tees available $15.
Handicap Distance – Very Important Change for this Year!
Please can all runners in the Under 19 grade upwards make sure you have selected your handicap distance for the season. You have a choice of:
Short – 4-6km at all handicap races
Long – up to 6-10km at all handicap races
Once you have selected your distance you must do this at each handicap to be eligible to earn your points.
You can be either male or female for either the short or the long distance.
You cannot do a combination of different distances - you must choose only one distance!
